Oh my word. If that slash was enough to take him out he was never going to survive 4 rounds. Enough already.

“ His nine points through four games lead the entire National Hockey League, which is especially impressive considering Kucherov missed the full season with injury

Yeah ok

I agree that it didn't look like much at all - no different than the little buttend jabs Sergachev did that Ek had a meltdown over.

I hope Kuch was acting for an Oscar, but I'm worried it might have hit him in precisely the wrong spot for some karmic reason. We'll see.

“Brutally dirty”. Oh my
How’d the surgery to reattach Kuch’s leg go? He’s really lucky they didn’t have to amputate. Tampa gives every bit as good as they receive when it comes to questionable hits.
TB fans putting an “h” in the word winning. Whining about things done to them while turning an oblivious eye to the things their team does.

If it was a half-assed attempt to injure, then I would call it "dirty".

I think DuClair was just giving him the usual business that playoff hockey demands. If I am coach Q, I am telling my guys to run the poop out of Kuch, Stamkos, and Hedman.

However, if Kuch really is hurt (intent or not), then it demands retaliation. I wouldn't go after DuClair for it. I'd sick Maroon or Schenn on Barkov and get the point across better. DuClair is a plug, taking him out means nothing.

The "brutal slash" looked like barely a tap. If Duclair's intent was to injure, he would have hit Kuch head first into the boards, like the Lightning did twice to Vatrano in 4 minutes. Where's the outrage there?

This has been a physical series both ways. Don't act like the Panthers are the only team doing any hitting.

I've never claimed that this roster can't or doesn't play dirty. I've openly criticized Cernak numerous times for head-hunting and called out Kuch more than once for his shenanigans. Kuch has some bad karma built up and this might be his payback.

The back or side of the knee is a stinger spot. You ever get hit there and have your whole leg go numb and then feel like it's on the fire? Same thing with the elbow and other nerve-rich spots - spots the pads might not cover or there might be a seam.

If he was acting, it was a Oscar performance. He would have come back to play a couple shifts later. I think something got him, or it's a giant act. Who knows. I just wanna see some firewagon hockey and that's more entertaining (for Bolts fans) if Kuch is on the ice.

That’s most likely all it was, just like hitting the “funny bone” on the elbow. If the game wasn’t already 6-2 I bet Kuch would’ve been back on the ice afterward.

Also the beachball comment is a little harsh. Sure there are a few theyd like back but the cats have made vasi look fairly human many times this season. I bet hed look just about as awful given our defensive lapses. Lets swap defense and see what happens

The Cats are kryptonite to Vasi. They have his number and are not impressed by his shiny Vezina trophy. It's more a testament to Florida's system than it is an indictment of Vasi's play. Also, the Bolts defense is mostly a tirefire on the right side. Savard has not provided any magic sauce to replace Shattenkirk or Bogosian - both of which turned out to be better than advertised. Rutta is a warm body. Schenn is a pylon. Cernak is the only decent right-side guy we have. Left side is another story, but right side is mostly replacement-level players.

I was amazed that Vasy currently has a .919 save percentage this series which I would have never had thought then I looked and saw the Panthers are averaging 40 shots per game for 160 total and only given up 13. His goals per game with OT is like 3.19 but overall he is still stopping a ton of shots. The Lightning seem to be purposely letting the Cats get high volume from the outside.

Last person on the team I worry about is Vasy for two reasons - I think he proven he is one of the top 3 tenders in the league right now and second we have no one behind him to replace him. We lose him playoffs are over.

I figured Kuch got a stinger based on how the play went. I was always more concerned with Sergachev and his shoulder - collarbone area. Glad to see they are on the ice.

I hear you but let’s stop with the whole he was out all season due to injury. Let’s just call it what it is he was out all season due to salary cap

Vasy is the difference in this series. His stellar first periods in games 2 & 4 totally changed the course of those games.

It could have been both. But yeah, I can admit the optics look like cap manipulation. It probably is. The league and the NHLPA need to fix it, or better yet, eliminate the hard cap and put a luxury tax in place.
